57: 2014 Passager Poetry Contest

Soft cover | 132 pages
For me, writing poetry is bearing witness to the poignancy and intensity of everyday life. I find my inspiration in all sorts of places: the news, overheard conversations, the beautiful language of science, memory, dreams, the Old Testament, my little town, the human body (including my own aging one) stories my Jewish grandmothers told at the table. Inevitably, as I write and revise a poem, no matter what the subject matter, I get to explore parts of myself and the world that I can;t access any other way.
